Infowars, the media platform owned by Alex Jones, is set to be sold in November. In October 2022, two juries found Alex Jones guilty of making defamatory statements, which resulted in threats and harassment against a first responder and families of Sandy Hook victims. On December 2, 2022, Jones filed for personal bankruptcy.

The auction will assist Jones in paying for damages to the families of Sandy Hook victims.

The $1 billion settlement comes from Jones’ loss in court after he falsely claimed that the shooting was staged.

“It´s very cut and dry that the assets of Free Speech Systems, the website, the equipment, the shopping cart, all that, can be sold,” Jones said. “And they know full well that there are a bunch of patriot buyers, and then the operation can ease on.”

Despite losing control of the company, Jones plans to continue his talk shows through other channels, possibly with support from his followers.

The auction will include Infowars’ intellectual property and assets, while Jones’ personal social media accounts may also be liquidated.

The families of the victims aim to hold Jones accountable for the harassment they faced from his followers following his conspiracy theories.

“Alex Jones will no longer own or control the company he built,” attorney Christopher Mattei stated.

“This brings the families closer to their goal of holding him accountable for the harm he has caused,” Mattei added.
