The day before Thanksgiving, Eddie Murphy’s son Eric Murphy led Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence into a candlelit room and presented her with an engagement ring. In a joint Instagram caption, the couple wrote, “God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.”

The couple began dating in 2021, when they revealed their relationship with a heartfelt birthday post.
“Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side,” Jasmin wrote at the time.
Jasmin revealed they met through her uncle, not their famous fathers, saying, “It wasn’t even our dads, and they’ve done two movies together. They’re friends. I don’t even know. It’s crazy.”
Jasmin added, “But we met through my uncle, and we became really good friends. We bonded on a lot of things. Obviously, we have similar backgrounds, so we understood each other on a certain level.”
Both fathers have reportedly taken a hands-off approach to the relationship. Martin Lawrence said, “We kind of stay out of their business and let them do their own thing and respect their thing.”
Lawrence joked, “I’m going to try to get Eddie to pay for the wedding.”
Jasmin wrote, “I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side. Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!”
